Snail and pork yin
nourishing soup

Ingredients:

one large fresh snail or half pounds frozen snail head, „X
-
pork 4 liang or 30 grams,
-
poria (Fuling), semen euryales, rhizome dioscoreae and white
peeled semen nelumbinis, each around 3 qian or 10 grams, „X
-
ginger one piece, „X
-
small amount of salt.

Method of cooking:

One fresh shelled snail, deprived of viscera and adherent
dirty substances. Clean it with water.
-
If frozen snail is used, clean after defrost. Discard the
water.

Cut the pork into pieces and discard the water.
-
Put all materials into a boiling pot, add adequate amount of
water. First, use quick fire, then change to moderate and
slow fire for 2 to 3 hours.

Seasoning well when eating.

Snail is sweet in taste, salty and mildly cold in character;
it nourishes yin, brightens the eye, promotes
urination and generation of body fluid. ƒÞ

Ginger is acrid in taste, warm in character; it expels
superficial and cold evils, warms stomache and eliminates
