Local dace and radix puerariae soup

Ingredients:

  • one fresh local dace,
  • radix puerariae half jin or 60 grams,
  • lean pork 4 liang or 30 grams,
  • semen phaseoli 1 liang or 7.5 grams,
  • radix astragali (Huangqi) 3 to 4 slices,
  • pericarpium citri reticulatae (Chenpi) one small piece.

 

Method of cooking:

  1. Local dace deprived of seales, stomache and all viscera, clean with water and fry with oil to golden yellow color.
  2. Peel the radix puerariae and clean with water, cut into small pieces (to avoid adherence to bottom of cooker).
  3. Put all materials into boiling pot and add adequate amount of boiling water and cook for 1 to 2 hours.
  4. Seasoning well when eating.

Effect:

  • Local dace contains protein; its meat is purely sweet.
  • Radix puerariae can dispel pathogenic factors from superficial muscles and can also reduce heat, promote eruption, generate body fluid, relieve thirst, raise yang and stop diarrhea.
  • Semen phaseoli promotes water excretion, reduces edema, eliminates toxin and eradicates carbuncle.
  • Lean pork nourishes yin, supplements muscle, lubricates intestines and regulates stomache; it is rich in nutrition.

Suitable for :

It is suitable for symptoms such as abundance of fire from deficiency of yin, flaring up of heart fire, liver fire and kidney fire, flush of face and ears, pain and swelling of gingival, dryness of mouth, pharynx, lips and tongue, excessive thirst and nocturnal drinking, oral ulcerations and soreness of the body, abundance of phlegm and hoarseness of voice, wetness-heat of stomache and intestines, and burning pain of anus.
