Cordyceps (Dongchongziacao) and water duck soup

Ingredients:

One water duck (old duck),
pork 3-4 liang or 20-30 grams,
Cordyceps (Dongchongziacao) 4 qian or 12 grams,
pericarpium citri reticulatae (Chenpi) 1 small piece,
Radix astragali (Huangqi) 3 to 4 slices.
Method of cooking:

Water duck hair and viscera deprived, clean and cut into pieces.
Cordyceps (Dongchongziacao) and pericarpium citri reticulatae (Chenpi) cleansed separately. Winter mushrooms stem cut off, soak with water before use.
Put all materials into a stewing pot. Add adequate amount of boiling water. Stew it for 3 to 4 hours. Seasoning when eating.
Effect:

Cordyceps (Dongchongziacao) strengthens yang, supplements lung, suppresses asthma, stops bleeding and resolves phleym.
Water duck is sweet in taste and cool in character; it strengthens middle-jiao and nourishes qi, promotes digestion and regulates stomache, promotes water excretion and toxin elimination, clears away heart-fire and lubricates lung.
If water duck is not available, it can be substituted by pork, the latter had the same function of nourishing yin.
Suitableness :

extremely fit for patient who had deficiency of yin and kidney yang.
