(5) It is really a blessings to “grow stout (put on weight) at middle age”?

In Chinese culture, there is a famous saying “grow stout (put on weight) at middle age” which is used to describe people who have put on weight at middle age.  Is it really a blessings ?  In fact, this age group is developing chronic hepatitis at a stage with apparent symptoms. The change of incretion and chronic activity of hepatitis often results in function disorder of the body systems, and subsequently cause secondary edema and change of body figure.

If it is accompanied with clinical symptoms or discomforts, especially apparent ennui, waist ache, whole body ache, repeating arthritis, short of breath, or abdomen tympanites, and body weight increases apparently in short term, it is important for you to go through body check timely and find out if you have chronic hepatitis supervened with secondary edema or secondary obesity. You should not be anxious to set out to reduce your body weight. From the statistical data “age group of first visit”, we can easily found that middle age group has symptoms more apparent and most of them need treatment better than other age groups.
